Nikon announces 24 mm and 16 - 35 mm lenses

This story’s not quite as stale as the Ricoh one above. On Monday, Nikon introduced a pair of new Nikkor lenses. The first is an F1.4, 24 mm ED lens (drool) which will ship in late March for $2199. The second is an F4, 16 - 35 mm ED VR zoom lens, priced at a more reasonable $1259. It’ll ship later this month.

Celebrating 12 years of the DCRP

It’s hard for even me to believe, but this holiday weekend marks the 12th anniversary of this website. Back when I started this site in 1997, a typical digital camera was at least $500 and had a resolution of 640 x 480 (or less!) and a 1.8″ LCD display. How times have changed!

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX1 finally reviewed

I know it seems like a million years since I posted a review, and that’s pretty close to accurate. Let’s just say that getting back to work after 3 weeks of vacation has been harder than I thought! Anyhow, today I’ve posted my review of the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX1. This ultra-compact camera uses Sony’s new Exmor R CMOS sensor, which promises double the sensitivity of traditional CCDs. Adobe updates Camera Raw plug-in

Adobe has released version 5.4 of their Camera Raw plug-in for Photoshop. Quite a few cameras are now supported, including the Canon PowerShot SX1 and EOS Rebel T1i, Nikon D5000, Olympus E-450/620, Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH1, Pentax K-7, Sigma DP2, and the Sony Alpha DSLR-A230/A330/A380.
